1. Overview

This assembly line is the electric kick scooter assembly line, serving light mobility & recreational equipment manufacturing industry. It is designed for full assembly of foldable electric kick scooters.

As shown in the on-site photo, the production line adopts metal slat conveyor equipped with special profiling tooling fixtures to hold and position semi-finished electric kick scooters steadily, enabling workers to assemble from bottom and side. Material bins beside workstations store wheel sets, shock absorbers, frames and other spare parts for multi-component assembly. The line features modular slat workstation structure as an independent assembly line with great universality. It is compatible with various foldable electric kick scooters, including kids’ models, adult commuter models. By replacing tooling fixtures and process cards, product changeover can be realized without large-scale line reconstruction, meeting flexible production requirements for multi-variety small & medium batch recreational scooters.

The whole line can be put into operation independently, or connected with frame pre-assembly line, motor pre-assembly line and offline inspection station to build a complete production chain. It supports straight or loop layout according to factory space, meeting mass assembly demands for small and medium-sized manufacturers. The modular design allows adding workstations and extending the line with capacity growth, supporting phased investment and lowering one-time construction cost. It is core production equipment for OEMs to realize standardized assembly and stable output.

2. Assembly Process

The assembly follows standardized workflow: Frame loading & positioning → Motor and front wheel assembly docking → Shock absorber & steering mechanism assembly → Battery and controller installation → Wiring harness layout → Handlebar & deck accessory assembly → Bolt tightening → Static commissioning → In-line inspection → Isolation and rework of non-conforming products → Finished electric kick scooter off-line.

Detailed description: Frame loading: The electric kick scooter frame is placed on dedicated slat pallet. Positioning fixture clamps the frame, and slat conveyor transports workpiece to each workstation to avoid shifting during assembly. Motor and front wheel assembly: Mount front wheel, hub motor and front shock absorber, connect core power assembly with frame. Shock absorber & steering assembly: Install riser, steering bearing and rear shock absorber, adjust steering clearance. Battery & controller installation: Fix battery pack and main controller inside deck compartment. Wiring harness: Lay power harness, brake harness, light and instrument harness. Each workstation is equipped with coiled pneumatic hoses and air ports. Air screwdrivers are used for bolt tightening to guarantee consistent torque. Handlebar & accessory assembly: Install handlebar, brake lever, dashboard, deck, mudguard and lights. Static commissioning: Power on and test brake, throttle, light and dashboard to check circuit faults and assembly interference. In-line inspection: Check assembly clearance, bolt tightness and electrical performance. Defective products are isolated and reworked on site. Off-line: Qualified scooters are transported to offloading station for cleaning and packaging before storage.
